Patients are really at the core of everything we do at jounce. We hope that our therapies are gong to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the cancer patients. The reason we come to work every day is because there are patients that we want to help. Without them we wouldn’t be here doing what we are doing We have a very integrated both discovery and translational research effort. To understand how the patients are going to respond to the treatments that we are trying to design. Our teamwork is based on us working toward the common goal of bringing therapies to patients and so when we work as a team it’s really that we are all driven by this common mission. We have some many different people from some many different backgrounds contributing to these you know huge ideas that we have for a treatment. Because we work so closely together, we can really understand what’s happening at every stage of the drug development process and make rapid changes based on real time data. We are trying to treat tumors in a completely different way from other companies in the field. We are taking very novel cutting edge approaches. Jounce is all about the science and a great science to me really means to apply really good scientific rigor. As we do our discovery work and our translational work, we’re applying the deepest scientific rigor to understand what’s going on and making data driven decisions. At Jounce what we are trying to make sure is that what we are bringing the best possible drug to patients. It’s about making sure the data we review is sound. Making sure we’ve done all the right controls and experiments. It’s clear to me that people really care about what they do and want to do the right thing. I think managers here are very approachable and I think that is very empowering. We work to make sure each of us can be the best that we can and admitting we don’t know something where someone else can lend a hand and lifting each other out in that way. Really we work hard and we play hard whether it’s happy hour or lunch together anything like that we are always looking for ways to spend time with each other and getting to know each other outside of the office. One jounce to me means that’s we all think of the greater good It’s really how we come together… no one does anything alone. Everybody is aligned with the same goal. One jounce to me means we are all in this together.
